Use these answers to compare gear-coupling structures and prepare the data needed for a preliminary review.
A gear coupling transmits torque between connected shafts while its tooth geometry accommodates the angular displacement permitted by the selected design. Confirm torque, speed, bore, shaft-end distance, lubrication and installation space for the actual duty.
Start with nominal and peak torque, operating speed, bore and shaft arrangement. Then check displacement, shaft-end distance, environment, lubrication and the dimensional drawing for the specific model.
Many gear-coupling designs use specified lubrication, but the lubricant type, quantity and maintenance interval are model-dependent. Follow the applicable product documentation rather than assuming one lubricant for every series.
Provide the driving and driven equipment, torque, speed, shaft diameters, bore and keyway details, shaft-end distance, installation envelope, operating environment and required quantity.
Send torque, speed, shaft and installation data for a preliminary review.
